At Standish Community High School, our enrichment offer provides a diverse, inclusive and aspirational programme that extends learning far beyond the classroom. Designed to broaden cultural capital and nurture the whole child, our offer gives every student the opportunity to become a successful learner, a confident individual and a responsible citizen. Students can explore a rich variety of opportunities across sports, the arts, academic interests, community links and personal passions, as well as take part in competitions and educational visits at local, national and international levels.
Our programme is strengthened by experiences that connect learning to the real world, including visiting speakers, workplace safaris and employer encounters that help students understand future pathways and develop essential skills for life and work. We are proud to offer volunteering opportunities through the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme at Bronze and Silver, enabling students to build resilience, teamwork and independence while contributing positively to their community. Through this broad and deliberately designed enrichment curriculum, we ensure that every student can pursue their interests, develop their character and fully engage with the wider world.
