At Standish Community High School, we are proud to offer students the opportunity to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) at Bronze and Silver level, a nationally recognised programme that builds confidence, resilience and independence. The Award encourages young people to challenge themselves, develop new skills and make a positive contribution to their community through voluntary service. Students take part in a balanced and rewarding programme that includes skills development, physical activity, volunteering and an unforgettable expedition experience. Guided by trained staff and supported every step of the way, participants learn to work as part of a team, set ambitious goals and push beyond their comfort zone. Through their DofE journey, students grow into confident individuals, successful learners and responsible citizens, equipped with the character, determination and life skills valued by colleges, employers and the wider world.
