All students at Standish Community High School can access free, impartial careers information, advice and guidance. Each student will have a 1-to-1 careers appointment either in the final term of Year 10 or during Year 11. Students do not need to arrange these appointments themselves; appointments are organised by the Futures Team. Students can also request an appointment.
Our careers team are passionate about helping young people discover their strengths, explore their interests and realise their potential. Through supportive and personalised guidance, students are encouraged to raise their aspirations, build confidence and consider the wide range of opportunities available to them.
Information, advice and guidance are available on all post-16 pathways, including sixth forms, colleges, apprenticeships, training opportunities, employment and university routes. The aim is to ensure that every student feels informed, supported and confident in making decisions about their future, leaving school with a clear plan for their next steps and the confidence to achieve their goals.
